Hughes&Kettner Attax 100 gutshots.
First of all, I have absolutely no idea if there's actually anyone here who's interested in this. Anyway, I was thinking of making a 1x12'' cab out of it, simply by taking the amplifier out of the chassis, not that I have a top for it, but whatever. That's because I barely use it, especially since I got a Fender 75. It's the 90's version btw, without the millions of effects which are on the newer version.
I thought it would be fun to take some pics of the inside, so here they are:
(from left to right)
There's a tube in there! It doesn't say anything on it, but I'm suspecting it's a 12AX7.
It works:
And the Reverb Tank:
You can't see it in the pics, but were some weird, sticky 'hairs' all over the inside. They're about 5mm long and serve no further purpose, I think.

Hmm. I don't know. What's the average tone hair going for? How do you ship those things?

Crazy indeed! But they actually don't look like that. They're black and simply were laying there. I took a brush and brushed some from the inside of the amp onto my desk and took a pic of it. Appearantly my camera can't take sharp pictures from a short distance. I couldn't get a sharp pic from my Jazzmasters serial number either.
Anyway, these are actually quite a lot of those hairs, that explains why some spots are darker than others. Sorry for the extremely shitty pic. I doubt anyone will get anything smarter of this.
I'm actually really looking forward to try this thing with a head. I always found the amplifier of the H&K too muddy and not really versatile. So I'd really like to try it with a Tiny Terror or something similar.
Edit: fixed.

There's no difference in tone at least with the hairs out. Still too muddy with the Jazzmaster, and just below useable with the Tele. Maybe it was just an amp tech getting bald really fast.

could it possibly be steel wool residue for some reason? Kinda looks sorta like that in that blurry pic.

That could be. I'll open it up again tomorrow and I'll compare some. I threw the stuff I took out today in the bin.
